Media Policy

By registering for Brown Girls Swim services I grant permission to Brown Girls Swim hereinafter to use my (or my child's) image (photographs and/or video) for use on Brown Girls Swim Media publications.

I hereby waive any right to inspect or approve the finished photographs or electronic matter that may be used in conjunction with them now or in the future, whether that use is known to me or unknown, and I waive any right to royalties or other compensation arising from or related to the use of the image.

Cancellation, Make-Up Class, and Transfer Policy

Brown Girls Swim does not provide refunds for any purchased services and make up classes are not guaranteed. Brown Girls Swim will do their best to accommodate swimmers when scheduling changes arise, but swimmers are not guaranteed make up classes for missed sessions.

As a best practice please aim to inform Brown Girls Swim of any class cancellations. In the even that you are registered for a session (4 classes) and can no longer attend the session Brown Girls Swim will allow you to transfer your registration please be sure to contact Brown Girls Swim for approval of any transfers.

Severe Weather Policy

In the event of severe and inclement weather causing cancellation of class Brown Girls Swim will offer a make-up session for swimmers to attend. The make-up session will likely take place on the same day and time as the cancelled lesson. If the swimmer cannot attend the make-up session the swimmer will receive a credit that can used within 3 months of receiving the credit, no refunds will be provided.

PLEASE READ CAREFULLY. THIS IS A RELEASE OF LIABILITY AND WAIVER OF CERTAIN LEGAL RIGHTS. The enrolled participant(s) and/or the parent/guardian of the participant(s) agree and understand that swimming is a HAZARDOUS activity. The participant recognizes that there are risks inherent in taking swimming lessons, including but not limited to, paralyzing injuries and death. The participant hereby agrees to participate in the Brown Girls Swim Swim, swim lesson program and hereby agrees to indemnify and hold harmless the Brown Girls Swim, its instructors, owners, management, agents, volunteers, and employees against any liability resulting from any injury that may occur to the participant while participating in the swim lesson program. The participant also agrees to indemnify the Brown Girls Swim for any damages incurred arising from any claims, demand, action or cause of action by the participant. The participant authorizes any representative of the Brown Girls Swim to have the participant treated in any medical emergency during their participation in the swim lesson program. Further, the participant and/or parent/guardian agree to pay all costs associated with medical care and transportation for the participant.
